Necessity of knowing God’s will in marriage

1. It is God that gives  a prudent wife and husband. Pro 19: 14

2. It is necessary to fulfill God’s purpose in life. The person that you marry can make or mar your life. Jer 29:11

3. To avoid being hooked up with the wrong company for life.

4. To avoid been ushered into satanic trap 

Challenges in finding the right partners

What are the challenges

• Choice based on physical appearance: Gen 3: 6 Not everything that appeared good is nice. The Bible talks about inner beauty much more than outer beauty. 
• Choice based on human recommendation.
• Choice based on material consideration. Otherwise you may become one of the materials.
• Choice based on desperation. Isa 40: 31, ps 37
• Choice based on sentiments. 

What are the baseline requirement

• you must be genuinely born again. Ps 23: 1-2; Jn 10: 47
• Yield daily to the Holy Spirit. Rom 8: 1412
• have a daily guide for your life

how do i access the will of God

• inner witness Rom 8: 12
• through inward peace 
• through dreams and vision
• through other people or prophetic confirmation

What to do after i have receive the word

• confirm and reconfirm, don’t rush. If it is the woman that receives first, don’t go and propose but pray that God will move the brother.
• Pass the leading through the peace test and love test. 1Jn 4: 8

• Honour God.
• Don’t wait till 30 before you start praying.
