BREAKING FREE FROM STAGNATION IN LIFE.

To be stagnant according to the dictionary is to Lacking freshness, motion, or flow; decaying through stillness. E.g. a stagnant pool or stagnant water. It also means figuratively: Without progress or change; stale; inactive. There could be career, business, family, ministry, church, academic stagnations. How do you break free from such? This article provides an answer.

Joh 5:1-15 KJV 1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. 11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? 13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

There were five porches there, five represent grace. Bethsaida means “house of mercy or house of kindness” and it was in these place that many impotent folks were laying down. Many were having sicknesses, incurable diseases, others were lame, blind, deaf and all manner of people were there waiting for the move of the water. The Bible says that at a certain season of the year, the angel of God comes down to stir the water and whoever first enters into it is made whole of whatever sickness he may have.

Whatever has made anyone impotent, sick  will leave you today in Jesus name. The power that brought Jesus from the grave will locate you in Jesus name.

The word impotent means feeble, without strength because of prolonged sickness.

There were many people there at that time, but the Bible says Jesus saw a particular man that had been there for 38years, He was not the one that saw Jesus, he didn’t even know who Jesus was, he had given up hope on anyone coming to assist him.

I used to think he was 38 years old but that he had been there for 38years or that he had been sick for 38years, we don’t know when they brought him but whatever age, he had stayed in that sickness for 38years.

Can I pray for you, every power that ties people down is broken right now in Jesus’ name.

Why this man? There were others there why did Jesus located this man. The Bible only says that Jesus knew that he had been there for long? Can I pray for you, in the midst of your family, colleagues in the office may God single you out for blessing, as this meeting progresses, may God locate you with your miracle in Jesus name.

The Lord asked him if he wanted to be made whole. I used to think that the man did not answer Jesus directly but as I studied the Bible and other manuscripts I discovered the Jewish way of saying yea or yes to a senior is the word “Sir”. In order word, he said yes Sir but i don’t see the possibility.

He said whenever he makes an attempt to come anytime the water is agitated, somebody else with less infirmity will go there before him.

Many that came after him had gone home because according to him whenever the pool is troubled and he is coming, another person will enter before he gets there.

Whatever has been destined for you, every power that is hijacking them shall perish by fire in Jesus name.

There are many of us that many times we are about getting some blessings some other people will collect it. After this prayer it shall stop in Jesus name.

There are also some people that when it is their turn to experience some good things then they will lose it. They have experience of almost getting a job, almost getting a good contract or getting married. Something will happen and it will be taken away from them. As I pray for you that yoke is broken in Jesus’ name.

The Lord asked him to pick up his bed and go home and the Bible says immediately. The word “immediately” in Greek is “eutheos” and it means: straightway, immediately, forthwith.

By this encounter your healing shall be with immediate effect in Jesus name.

This man was in this same condition for 38years. He was stagnated in life. When his friends were getting married he could not go or even get married, when they were attending school, he could not go because he was at the pool, when they were doing good things in life he was waiting for the stirring  of water. Can i pray for you, every yoke of stagnation be broken from your life in Jesus name.

There are many businesses that have been tied down like this, there are many homes that have been tied down in this manner, there is no progress whatsoever. When you begin to see the same object every now and then, it means you are moving in a cycle you are not making progress, can i pray for you then, every yoke of cycle in life is broken now in Jesus name.

There are many that have great dreams of what to do with their life after school but they have been stagnated and not moving at all. Many are working in places where they have been in the same position for a very long time. They receive the same salary, no increase, no progress, as I pray that the yoke of career stagnation is destroyed by fire in Jesus name.

One of the reasons why this man stayed too long in his condition was because of what the man said, said he had no man to put him in the pool. Of course relatives has abandoned him 

There are many of us that we would have moved in life but we don’t have anyone to help us, we don’t know anybody in government house and we have no one that can come to our aid, but most important is for you to know God because God will connects you with somebody that know somebody that know somebody.

We all need help at one time or the other. Even our Lord was assisted by women who minister to him of their own goods

Luk 8:2-3 KJV 2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, 3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

After this programme there shall be divine connection that will lift you up and change your story in Jesus name.

This man would have possibly remained in that condition or possibly died there if not for the Lord that came to his rescue.

WHAT CAUSES STAGNATION IN LIFE?

1. Sin may cause stagnation, this man in John 5 was affected by Satan with sickness because of sin Jn 5: 14

2. Satan may put people in bondage and stagnation

3. Satan copied God and used that knowledge to block people.

Job 1:10 KJV Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

This is what Job was accusing God for

Job 19:8 KJV He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

The hebrew word they used for “fenced up” is “gadar” and it means to wall up, wall off, close off, build a wall, (Qal)to wall up, shut off

4. Human Enemies inspired by the devil can build a wall to shut a man in

1Ki 20:1 KJV And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his hosts together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.

The word “besiege” there is “tsur” and it means to bind, besiege, confine, cramp, (Qal)to confine, secure, to shut in, besiege, to shut up.

When there is a siege in a man’s life, life becomes difficult, poverty and lack becomes such a person’s experience. That was what was happening in Samaria.

Experience of Jeremiah

Jer 36:5 KJV And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:

When a man is in the prison of the enemy, he is confined and restrained, he is bound.

GOD WANTS US TO MOVE FORWARD NO MATTER WHAT

THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL AT THE RED SEA

Pharaoh was pursuing them to the red sea and it was like they were stuck but God told Moses to tell them to move forward. as far as God is concerned, there was no Red sea

Exo 14:15 KJV And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

when they were at Horeb and were just walking in circle for many years God had a message for them:

Deu 1:6-7 KJV 6 The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: 7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.

In chapter 2, the Lord told them the same thing:

2Ki 6:25 KJV And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.

In the new testament, God desire is that we are not stagnated but grow and develop, That is why you hear statement like grow in grace:

2Pe 3:18 KJV But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

2Pe 1:5 KJV And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

Luk 2:40 KJV And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Act 12:24 KJV But the word of God grew and multiplied.

BEFORE A MAN CAN BREAK FREE FROM STAGNATION

1. He must recognise where he is, where he was going to, how far he has gone and the distance from where he is now to where is going.

2. He must have the desire and hunger to grow

3. He must be dissatisfied with his present condition

4. There must be holy anger. I am not meant for this level. I CANNOT REMAIN LIKE THIS.

5. He must make attempt by crawling, asking for advice

6. There must be Holy discontent or righteous discontent. How can your income remain the same for 5-10years, staying in the same apartment for 20years, reading one course for 8years, you must to a point of enough is enough. This nonsense must stop.

In order for anyone to change their condition or position you will need help. You will need external force to move you.

God’s desire for us is to go forward in life, It is His desire for us to make speedy progress all the time. We are not victims of circumstances and conditions of life. However there are forces that block people, there are forces that tie people down, there are forces of Pharaoh that will not let people go, there are powers that restraint advances, they oppose growth, there are powers that are saying no.

Many have struggled to make things work for themselves, they acquired higher education, learnt new skills, make attempts to travel out of the country, partake in more than one job, and yet things have remained the same all the year long.

This man would not have stayed there for 38years if he could help himself. He has nobody.

Many at times we can not move ourselves with all our skills and motivational talks, if it is spiritual and not man made or self inflicted as i said before.

Then look at what Newton says

Newton’s first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force. This is normally taken as the definition of inertia. The key point here is that if there is no net force acting on an object (if all the external forces cancel each other out) then the object will maintain a constant velocity. If that velocity is zero, then the object remains at rest. If an external force is applied, the velocity will change because of the force

That external force Newton is talking about is Holy Ghost power that will break prison doors where anyone is confined ACT 16, all the doors were opened.

The Power that will compel you to move and break territory, take new territory, possess your possession and take victory.

Zec says it is not by power or might but by my Spirit says the Lord

Zec 4:6 KJV Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

The race is not for the swift, the battle is not for the strong

The moment you recognize that by your power and skill and know how you can’t help yourself then God will show up. Man extremity is God’s opportunity.

The man said he has no one that can put him in the pool. but praise God we have a man today Jesus of Nazareth. He is also our pool of Bethsaida.

Only the power in the name of Jesus that can set people free from the bondage of stagnation in life.

What has Jesus done to set us free?

Gal 1:4 KJV Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Col 1:12-14 KJV 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

The word used for “delivered” there is Rhuomai in Greek and it means to rescue, draw unto oneself. He has also translated us. In order word we are no longer under the jurisdiction of the devil.

Exercise your authority, exercise dominion mandate, make a declaration, I have been redeemed. The word redeemed means to buy back from the slave market. The blood of Jesus has set us free to exercise your freedom, tell the devil I can no longer be in captivity. It is not for God to deliver you. He has done that 2000years ago it is left for you to enforce the victory that was won on the cross of Jesus

The power of Holy Ghost is the power that brought our Lord from the grave it is the resurrection power and it is not in heaven but right in your belly

John 7: 37 says out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.

The power is at our disposal. it is God’s power but it is towards us.

Eph 1:19 KJV And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Prayers

Every power of evil assigned against me perishes by fire in Jesus’ name.

Every yoke of bondage over my life and destiny break in Jesus name

Every yoke of stagnation and standstill in life be broke in Jesus name

As i pray now i separate myself from common affliction and family attack in Jesus name

Because the Lord made me free i refused to stagnated i decree i am moving forward in life, i made advance movement,

Whatever is tying people down will not tie me down in Jesus name.

Every bondage of Pharaoh over my life is broken now in Jesus name.
