GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU

God will remember you this year
To remember means To recall from one’s memory; to have an image in one’s memory. To memorize; to put something into memory. To keep in mind, be mindful of. To not forget (to do something required).

Gen 8:1 KJV And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

When the Bible says that God remember Noah, what is the bible talking about? What does it mean for God to remember? This statement brings forth many questions like does it mean that God does forget? Does God have emotions like human? Of course we human do forgets things, places we have visited before, sometimes we don’t remember the faces of people or their names. We do forget things we have studied in religious and secular books. The inability for couples to remember the special dates in their lives has caused many problems in their marriages. So it is always important that couple endeavour to remember their engagement, birthdays and wedding anniversary dates. A students that forgets may not be able to excel in examinations.
So when Bible says “and God remembered Noah” What does that means?
First it need to be established that God is not a man. Num 23:19 says God is not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that He should repent. God is totally different from man in terms of certain ways even though we are created in His image and likeness.

It is important that we realize that in the Bible, there are terms that are used for God that are anthropomorphic type terms; in other words, describing God in human language. Really it’s impossible to do but we don’t have anything else. We don’t have the divine terms to describe God’s divine character. Thus, we must define or describe God’s actions and God’s character in all that we have human language, but there’s no way that human language can really portray the truth of God. And so we just have to do the best we can using terms that are familiar with us to describe the activities or the actions of God because we really don’t have any other terms.

Paul in 11Cor12:2 said he was caught up into third heaven and he heard languages that he can’t express with human understanding and comprehension.
“And God remembered Noah” is a figure of speech.
This is an anthropomorphism (a non-literal picture of God in human terms we can understand).
All the while when the rain was falling on the earth and brooks were opened and fountains of water were released God was watching over the Ark, sustaining and preserving it while the destruction of the earth and all its inhabitants were going on. So after that was done, God’s next plan and agenda was to get Noah and the occupants from the boat and this is what made the writer of the Bible to say “God remembered Noah”.

Now the activity of God with Noah picked up again so that God was really watching over that ark for all of those days that it was floating there upon the water. God remembered Noah, began His activity with Noah once more. And every living thing, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark.
God focuses His attention on Noah again.
At this point God again turned His active attention towards Noah.
So how do we know that God remember Noah or what were the indications of that God remembered Noah?
God may be said particularly to remember him, and them, when God made a wind to pass over the earth : God knew how to make the waters subside. Even a big problem like this was not a big problem to God.
He began to take measures for removing the waters from the earth, as he did by sending a wind, next mentioned: and thus God’s helping his people when in difficulties and in distress, and delivering out of them, is called his remembrance of them; and he not only remembered Noah and his family, who are included in him, but every living creature also, which is expressed; for as the creatures suffered in the flood for the sins of men, so those in the ark were remembered and preserved for the sake of Noah and his family, and the world of men that should spring from them.

There are instances in the Bible where certain people were forgotten and it took grace and divine providence for them to be remembered.

The Chief butler and Joseph
Joseph had interpreted the dreams of both butler and chief baker and while he interpreted that of Chief butler he told him to remember him when he is restored as he had predicted.

Gen 40:14 KJV But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:

Joseph pleaded with the Chief butler to help him out but this is what the Bible says about the chief Butler.

Gen 40:23 KJV Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

This is human nature most of the times. They say feed a dog for three days and he will remember you for three years but feed human for three years he will not even remember. He forgot totally about Joseph but you see when the set time to favour Joseph came the same man that forgot him was the same person that advertised him to Pharaoh. Somebody will announce you soon in Jesus name.
Two full years had gone, Joseph was still in the prison probably disappointed by the ingratitude of Chief Butler who should have used his influence with the King Pharaoh to get him out and yet had forgotten him. One day Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret and that was when the Chief Butler remembered Joseph

Gen 41:9 KJV Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

It was this incident that brought Joseph to the throne and he became the Governor of the land.
There are people that that you had met in the time past and they are possibly in the high position now, this year the Lord will put your matter in their heart and you shall be remembered in Jesus name.

Mordecai
He was at the gate of the palace when he overheard some disgruntled person plotting to kill the king who also happens to be the husband of Esther. So Mordecai went to inform Esther and Esther in turn informed the King in the name of Mordecai. Those people were arrested and investigation conducted and were found guilty and hanged. But the man that saved the King was not rewarded. Nobody remembered the good gesture.

Est 2:21-23 KJV 21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 22 And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name. 23 And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.

Days and months had passed with Mordecai not remembered but when it was time to favoured him, the night he Mordecai was to be killed was the same night that the King could not sleep and he asked that the book of Chronicle be brought before him then and then something was discovered.

Est 6:1-3 KJV 1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. 2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. 3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.

A lot of questions comes to the mind. Why that night when the enemy of the Jews was just coming to get Mordecai killed? Why was Mordecai reward delayed until now?
When the secretary was reading the records, he mentioned the case of the treason and the king asked what was done for the man and the secretary said nothing was done as far as the record was concerned. Right there the king asked Haman who just came at the right time to demand what could be done for such a person in whom the king delights.
May this be your time of favour and rewards in Jesus name. May be you have done good to a great man and you have been forgotten, not appreciated, don’t worry, the rewards are kept for a good time when it will shake the nations and bring glory to the name of Jesus. Because of you they will not be able to sleep until you are rewarded in Jesus name.

Gideon
Gideon was a man mightily used by God to rescue children of Israel from their enemies the Midianites. He waged so many wars and through him God gave Israel rest on all sides. But when he died, things changed and this is what the Bible recorded:

Jdg 8:33-35 KJV 33 And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god. 34 And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side: 35 Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.

Not only did they forgot Gideon even after his death, they killed all his children except Jotham that ran away. The Shechemites conspired to do that evil work but the good news is that what brought them together scattered them.
These and many instances portrayed the nature of man. Man do forget but God cannot forget. This is how Isaiah put it:

Isa 49:15-16 KJV 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

God says even though the woman loves her baby but she can forget the baby and not give her suck. But far be it from our maker. In fact He has graven us on the palm of His hand for everlasting remembrance. Halleluyah.
As a mater of fact, God Himself asked us to bring Him into remembrance. We also are said to be his “remembrancer” when we plead his promise, and press him to performance. Not that we persuade him thereby to do us good, but we persuade our own hearts to more faith, love, obedience, whereby we become more capable of that good.

God remembered other people

Gen 19:29 KJV And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
Gen 30:22 KJV And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
Exo 2:24 KJV And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

We can asked to be remember

Samson
Samson had messed up his anointing. But God is a God of second chance, Samson understood that:

Jdg 16:28 KJV And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

Hannah
Hannah had suffered reproach from her mate for long because she was barren. One of the day she went into the temple to pray.

1Sa 1:11 KJV And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

Hezekiah
Hezekiah was sick unto death, the prophet came to add salt unto injury by asking him to write his will and prepare to die. Then Hezekiah prayed to God to remember him.

2Ki 20:3 KJV I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Nehemiah
Several times in the book of Nehemiah, he prayed to be remembered for the good that he has done in building the wall of Jerusalem.

Neh 13:14 KJV Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.

One of of our source of encouragement is to know that God does remember our labour of love rendered to His people.
“God is not unfaithful to forget your work and labour of love,” saith the apostle. Heb 6:10
And there is “a book of remembrance written before him,” saith the prophet, “for them that fear the Lord”. Mal 3:16 A metaphor from kings that commonly keep a calendar or chronicle of such as have done them good service: as Ahasuerus, Est 6:1
God also is said to have such a book of remembrance. Not that he hath so, or needeth to have; for all things, both past and future, are present with him: he hath the idea of them within himself, and every thought is before his eyes, so that he cannot be forgetful.
But he is said to remember his people (so he is pleased to speak to our capacity) when he showeth his care of us, and makes good his promise to us. God will remember you this time. It is the time to shift focus on you. God is focused. He can do all things at the same time but chooses to do at times one thing at a time. While the deluge was taking place, He watches until it is finished and then His activity began again with Noah. God is beginning with you again. Things will change for better. Whatever is crawling will move faster now. There will be speed and acceleration. Heave has remember you. Above all He will cause men to remember you and favour you. Get ready for abundant of favour is here. God is putting His focus on you now. His radar light is on you. Amen.
