How do we see ourselves?

HOW DO WE SEE OURSELVES
Most people are bothered about what people says about them. Some want to know what other people thinks about them. We need to know not only what people says about us but what God Almighty has spoken about us, then and then can we have the right opinion about ourselves.

Num 13:21-33 KJV 21 So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath. 22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. 25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

The Children of Israel had been going round for sometime now after they left Egypt, they were very close to Canaan their promised land. There are many of us that have been roaming around like the children of Israel, going up and down because of job, business, marriages and a lot of things, but i have a good news for you, before the end of the year you will get to your own promise land in Jesus name.

Moses selected one person from each tribe to make a total of twelve spies. Their mandate was to go to Canaan and seek, investigate and come back with the report of how the land was. They were also to bring sample of the fruit of the land so that people may be encouraged to go there.
The people actually went and they saw the land and brought a big fruit from there as evidence of how rich the land was. It was a big fruit that at least six people carried it. I pray for you that this month you shall reap big harvest in Jesus name.

However, they also bring back report of the land as they were instructed by Moses. But the bible called their report evil reports. What the report they brought? Why did the Bible call their report evil reports?
Evil reports are reports that make people sick, that make people sad, that make people to be sorrowful. I pray for you as the year comes to an end, no such reports shall be yours in Jesus name.

I decree good report for you, i decree good news, receive it in Jesus name.

Num 13:32 KJV And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

They said the land was good, it flows with milk and honey, they showed the fruit but they said it was a land that eat the inhabitants and there were giants in the land. They spoilt their first report with the negative reports. They said the land do devour the inhabitants.

I pray for you this land will not consume you, this land will not eat up your family, it will not eat up your marriages in Jesus name.
Another thing that make their report evil was that they said they saw giants, men of great stature in the land.They were very tall and well built and strong.
They said those giants saw them in comparative measure as grasshoppers, they were very small in stature when compare with the giants. There is no problem there but this is where the problem came.

Num 13:33 KJV And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

It is true that the giants saw them as grasshoppers but the problem was that they themselves saw themselves as grasshoppers. And because of that they concluded that they were not able to go and possess the land. They lost their courage and happiness and enthusiasm about the promise land. This is the land God promised to their fathers Abraham, isaac, and Jacob. They were very close to the land but because of what they saw and how those people saw them, it affected the was they saw themselves and their own estimation. They lost their self esteem. No more boldness.
Ladies and gentlemen, anybody can have an opinion about how you are, how you look like, they may compare you to any thing, to them you may not matter, you may not have things going on for you, that is their opinion, they are entitled to it.

The question is how do you see yourself? What is your own estimation of yourself? the spies said in their own eyes they were just like the giants saw them. They allowed the opinion of the giants to form their own reality. they became intimidated and fearful. In fact The bible says in the next chapter they were all crying, all the men and women in their tent. They wanted to go back to Egypt, a place of slavery just because of the way those people saw them.

Two of the spies named Caleb and Joshua who were with the twelve also saw the same giants but according to them, they said the spies were bread and butter, that their defence has gone from them. They saw the same giants that the ten saw.
If we allow the way other people sees us to get into us, it will affect us, it will make us to become cowards and fearful.

in 1Sam 17, there was a battle between the children of Israel and the Philistine, the Bible say a champion comes out from the camp of the Philistine for forty days to harass them and nobody could summon courage to challenge him. They were all afraid of him because he was a giant. The giant cursed them and their God and nobody could challenge him.
Every Giants harassing you shall be put to shame today in Jesus NAME

1Sa 17:23-24 KJV 23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.

Everybody fled from him including king Saul but when David came and saw the giant and heard what he was saying, how he was ridiculing God’s people, David saw differently.

1Sa 17:26 KJV And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

David saw a man that does not have a covenant with God and so Goliath was not protected at all,
every power ridiculing your life shall be disgraced in Jesus name.
At the end of the day Goliath was killed and his head cut off. Because David saw differently, David did not allow the giant to intimidate him, in fact when the time of the battle came, David ran towards the man and use one stone to knock him down. That Goliath shall fall this day in Jesus name.
I pray for you every Goliath of your life shall perish by fire in Jesus name.

How are we suppose to see ourselves?
It was true that when you compare the height of the average children of Israel with the giants, they were very small indeed. It was a physical reality to them. It may be true the way we see ourselves, it may be true that truly speaking, we don’t have enough, we don’t have enough money in the bank now, we don’t have a husband or wife who we want to marry, it may be true that we don’t have a comfortable apartment now, it may be true that we are sick in our bodies, there are many things that could seems to be true around us but that is not the way we are suppose to see ourselves.
Our present circumstances and situations are not to define us and described us, The way people sees us are not to define us. Caleb and Joshua were of the same stature like other spies but they saw themselves differently. and they saw the giants as nothing.

How do we change what we see?
The good news is that we can change the way we see ourselves. We can begin to see ourselves differently and it will eventually become our reality.
Many of us have look at ourselves this morning using the mirror or what they call glass, some of us like what we saw some of us made some adjustment to our clothes and faces so we can look good. Bible also wants us to look at the glass too

2Co 3:18 KJV But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Bible says we behold as in a glass. What is the glass that the Bible is talking about here? James tells us

Jas 1:25 KJV But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The perfect law of liberty is the word of God. It is the Bible. if we go back to 2Cor 3: 18, therefore when we behold the glass of the word, instead of seeing ourselves like in the physical mirror, rather the Bible say we see the glory of the Lord, and as we behold, we are changed into that same image that we see.

The word “change” there is metamorphosis in Greek, it is the process where by worm caterpillar is changed into flying insect. The bible says just by beholding the mirror, we don’t need to do any other thing, just behold and we are transformed into what we see which is the glory of God. Jesus is the glory of God, we will become like Jesus in our character, people will see Jesus in our lives. Whatever has become of Jesus will also become ours. If Jesus is successful, heathy, sound, intelligent, happy and joyful, we will also become.
We will no longer see ourselves as failure, poor, sick because the image we see is not poor, sick, wretched and miserable. And as you think over this you become what you see.

1Jn 4:17 KJV Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

What do you see today?,
Since we are in Christ, we are like Jesus, we should define ourselves as Jesus is and as we behold Him, we will be like Him. In Christ Jesus we can do all things, we are more than able. We are winners, we are successful, we are great people. We are strong people, we are more than conquerors, we are not wretched, we are not poor, we are not sick, we are not poor. That is how we should see ourselves.
This is what the Bible says about us. We are not what people say we are.You are not what your neighbour, spouse, enemy calls you. Find out what Bible calls you
Call yourself what Bible calls you or what God call you.
Rom 4: 17 God call those things that be not as those they were. We should not call things the way they are otherwise they will always remain like that. but we should call them the way we want them to be in present tense as if they are already. say things like i am healed, i am ok, i am wealthy, i am a mother, i am a landlord.
God call Abram father of many nations and he too agreed to change his name to Abraham and after a while he became what God was calling him.

There is another report
They brought evil report of the land, today many evil reports are on TV, Radio, magazine, from people and on Internet. Don’t listen to them again.
But there is another report

Isa 53:1 KJV Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

The report is the report of what the Bible says when you behold it. Will you believe what it says or what your physical mirror says and what your friend and neighbours says, will you believe the reports of the spies or that of Joshua and Caleb?

Behold your Bible
Read your Bible and study it
Meditate on the word of God.
Declare the word over yourselves everyday

Prayers
Every giants intimidating and harassing ny life perish in Jesus name.
I renounce every evil word or identification of the people over me in Jesus name.
