Women are familiar with these strings they adds to their hairs to make it beautiful, long and abundant. I believe they enjoy having plenty strands around. They call it attachment and it is fixed into the natural hair. In life there are many things that fixed themselves on us naturally or super naturally. Such is the case in our text.
Act 16:16-18 KJV 16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
This event happened at the time of prayers just like event that happened in Act 3 when the lame man was healed.
This make me to be sure that in this hour prayer, your breakthrough has come, your healing has come, your deliverance has come in Jesus name.
There are many of us that go around with this kind of embarrassing situation, harassed by the devils up and down just like the way Paul and his company were harassed
We don’t know how many days and why Paul tolerated her for many days as Bible said, but one thing is sure as long as you can live with the issues around you, you will. As long as you can tolerate anything negative you will.
But Bib!e says when Paul could no longer bear it, he was grieved. Grieved at the devil that has attached himself to them, the Bible says the girl followed them up and down. Paul was also grieved at what the devil was using the girl to do and what the owner of the girls were doing by taking advantage of her.
Even though what the girl was saying was right, she was using the spirit of soothsaying to advertise what God was doing through the life of Paul and Silas.
Paul said enough is enough until you come to a point where by you will say enough is enough, things will not work.
Paul was grieved, ladies and gentlemen there is a place for holy indignation and anger. Ephesians says be ye angry and sin not
You need to be angry not at your husband and wife but at that lack, poverty, frequent sickness and financial Challenges.
This is my questions why is that the girl could not free herself? Its because she is trapped, she was in bondage, it takes a superior power to set another person free.
Bible says Paul commanded the spirit to come out of her and immediately that same hour the spirit left her.
Only someone with the power of Holy Spirit can do this.
The Holy Ghost would enabled you, he will empower you, he will strengthen you, he will enable you to confront such situations like Paul.
The Lord Jesus said how can a man enter into a strong man house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man.
Mar 3:27 KJV No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
I like the way Luke put it
Luk 11:21-22 KJV 21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
It takes stronger power than the one in your home, in your father house, the one that has vowed not to let you go
Luk 10:19 KJV Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Every power that has attached itself to me, to my life following me to my p!ace of breakthrough, this day I break you out from my life.
Every evil attachment am carrying catch fire in Jesus name.
Every evil attachment following me. You have followed me to my business, to my marriage, to my place of work and follow me down to church, an end has come, break in Jesus name
