IT SHALL BRING FORTH FRUITS

IT SHALL BRING FORTH FRUITS

TEXT: Num 17:6-11 KJV  6 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7 And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness. 8 And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. 9 And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod. 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. 11 And Moses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he.

To see a piece of wood long cut off from the parent stock, without bark or moisture remaining, laid up in a dry place for a single night, with others in the same circumstances-to see such a piece of wood resume and evince the perfection of vegetative life, budding, blossoming, and bringing forth ripe fruit at the same time, must be such a demonstration of the peculiar interference of God, as to silence every doubt and satisfy every scruple. It is worthy of remark that a sceptre, or staff of office, resuming its vegetative life, was considered an absolute impossibility among the ancients;

Whereas the rods of the other heads of the tribes remained as barren as before

The text we read was the outcome of the inter-tribal war among the tribes in Israel. Some Levites ganged up against Aaron and Moses to challenge their rulership. They believed they were all Levites and they could also do what Moses and Aaron were doing. Meanwhile, God had placed some responsibilities unto the Levites while He gave priesthood as a perpetual ordinance to Aaron and his children.

Because of these controversies, there were enmities, intar-tribal problems. In the course of this, the three gang leaders-Korah, Dathan and Abiram with the two hundred fifty thousand people died.

In order to settle this issue of leadership controversy once and for all, God asked all the tribe’s representatives to submit a rod with their tribe name engraved on it for identification. Twelve rods were submitted and kept in the Holy of Holies overnight. The injunction given by God to anyone’s rod that changes would be the tribe He had selected to be the priesthood.

A man’s rod was the sign of his position as ruler in the house and congregation; with a prince the rod became a sceptre, the insignia of rule (Gen 49:10). As a severed branch, the rod could not put forth shoots and blossom in a natural way. But God could impart new vital powers even to the dry rod.

The following morning when all the rods were brought out, one was unique and different.

Num 17:8 KJV And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

All the rods were dried and were put together in the same place, but God put life in the rod of Aaron, his rod was selected. I pray for someone, among your contemporaries, you are above. In the midst of well qualified people, your case shall be chosen in Jesus name.

Daniel was among the leaders and presidents but this is what the Bible says about him:

Dan 6:1-3 KJV 1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; 2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. 3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

Joseph related his dreams. Among his brethren, his own sheave stood up. I don’t know how many competitors around you, you are standing out in Jesus name.

Gen 37:7 KJV For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

How about David, he was chosen out of his brethren to be king.

1Ch 28:4 KJV Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:

You will rule in the midst of your enemies

Psa 110:2 KJV The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Here a dried rod budded, brought forth buds, blossoms and yielded Almond fruits. Whatever is dry in any man’s life is producing fruits in Jesus name.

That was how the controversy was finally settled. However, there were many lessons to be learnt.

1.This rod defied the law of sowing and reaping in Gen 8:22. It is a law that before a tree or fruit is generated, the seed must have been planted. There are some protocols which are broken for us in Jesus’ name.

2. This rod was placed in an unusual environment and yet did fine and produce forth fruit. It means it doesn’t matter wherever we found ourselves, we can prosper, blossom and bring forth fruits.

3.This rod produces fruit in less than 24 hours. It does not take God anything to change a man’s story. Anything is possible within 24hours. It took less than 24 hours before the miracle of abundance happened in 2Kings 7 when Elisha prophesied that by this time tomorrow, a shift will take place and it was so.

4. The processes of flowering, pollination, seeding and fruitfulness were hasted up. The Lord is able to fast forward some developmental processes . The natural order was stated by Jesus in Mar 4:28 KJV For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

But when God wants to bless people specially He still maintains order by speeding it up, it’s the same way with miracles and healing . May you receive the grace of speed in Jesus name.

5. This rod, though long broken off, has dried up, had been used to shepherd animals yet regained life, went back into vegetable life and was restored. It means it doesn’t matter how dried a situation may be, God can cause revival, restoration, and rejuvenation.

How to bring forth fruits in a hurry?

1. You must be born again for you to be spiritually fruitful

2. You must abide in Christ.

Joh 15:4-5 KJV 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

3. Travailing in prayers:

Gal 4:19 KJV My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

As their conversion to God had been the fruit of much labour, prayers, and tears, so he felt them as his children, and peculiarly dear to him, because he had been the means of bringing them to the knowledge of the truth

Mic 4:10 KJV Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Isa 66:8 KJV Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

The earth brings forth its productions gradually and slowly. Nations rise by degrees, and are long in coming to maturity. But here is such an event as if the earth should in a day be covered with a luxurious vegetation, or as if a nation should spring at once into being.

Here the protocol and the process would be suspended. The condition for it to happen is that there must be a travail

What happens when we begin to travail?

1.Things comes out from obscurity

Job 28:11 KJV He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

2. You shall be exceedingly fruitful

Psa 1:3 KJV And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

3. Life produces fruits effortlessly

Mar 4:28 KJV For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Man extremities are God’s opportunities Sir.

God caused the dried for in Ezekiel 37 to receive life

Eze 37:3-4 KJV 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. 4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

God caused Sarah whom men had written off to become a mother in Gen

his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

This is is how Paul put it

Heb 11:11 KJV Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
