What to do when expectation is delayed

Hope is defined as confident expectation of good things and in this month of expectation of good things, you will yours in Jesus name. Before the month finishes in less than twenty four hours, those good things will not elude you in Jesus name.
Expectation is anticipation, looking forward to get or receive something,

Exo 32:1-14 KJV 1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 9 And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: 10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. 11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. 14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

Whatever you are anticipating and expecting to happen this month and this year shall come to pass in Jesus name.

In life we expect quick results to our demands, we want it to happen right and right there. We are also in a jet age where there are fast food restaurants where you can just enter and right there get your food and start eating without going through the rigor of cooking. We can also sent message through various technology and get them delivered in the other part of the world in a second.

But sometimes in life things don’t come easily as we expects them to come. There are delays here and there. in the text we read, Moses had gone to be with the Lord on the mountain, people thought it will be just a night affair but Moses was there for almost forty days, they were expecting that Moses will come back the following day, that day past and Moses was no where to be found, there was no communication or gsm to reach him, the following week, they couldn’t get Moses, twenty days, no Moses, 30days no Moses the Bible says that the people were disappointed. They were disappointed at the long absence of Moses, they seem to have imagined that he had deluded them, and had probably been destroyed amidst the thunders of the mountain Exo 24:15-18. Accordingly, they gave way to their superstitious fears and fell back upon that form of idolatry which was most familiar to them

Pro 13:12 KJV Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Bible interchanges the word “hope” and “desire”. Bible says in that passage that hope deferred or delayed makes the heart sick.

The word “sick” there actually means properly to be rubbed or worn ; hence (figuratively) to be weak, sick, afflicted ; or (causatively) to grieve, make sick ; also to stroke (in flattering), entreat: – beseech, (be) diseased, (put to) grief, be grieved, (be) grievous, infirmity, intreat, lay to, put to pain, X pray, make prayer, be (fall, make) sick, sore, be sorry, make suit.
In order words the people were disappointed, grieved, sorrowful, wearied. because their expectation of seen Moses was delayed, he tarried too long than they expected.

This is the true state of many Christians today, because our desires or expectation is delayed, tarried, and not coming at our time we have become weary in serving God, we are already giving up like the children of Israel, many of us actually are sick, its all written all over our faces.
There are many Christian today that are weary because the husband has not come, money for business has not come, car they expected has not come, houses they planned to build has not been completed, admission to universities has not been granted and so on and so on.
Every yoke of disappointment is broken in Jesus name.

When you read the proverb again, it says that hope delayed or deferred may make the heart sick but it did not stop there, it says when the desire or the hope comes, it is a tree of life. Praise God, this shows that even though things may be delayed right now, the Bible says and give assurance that the desire will ultimately comes.

In the case of the children of Israel, Moses eventually came back, he did not die on the mountain, he came back to them.
Your own desire will come this month in Jesus name, it will come this year in Jesus name.

In the text read, because of the delay, the children of Israel asked Aaron the high priest to make them another god that will lead them because as for Moses they don’t know what has happened to him and they cannot keep on waiting on God they were not seeing. Aaron asked them to bring their gold and with it he made a golden calf which they begin to worship, it was while they were worshipping their new god that Moses came.

This is a big lesson for all of us under the new covenant, many Christian today are not patient, many have gone to native doctors to have their problem solved, many have been deceived by so called prayer houses, and by prophets who are wolves in sheep clothings. Many have lost material goods and money in search of solutions because of the delay they are experiencing, many have been invited to come and see one woman or man of God that has the hotline number of God and can perform miracle to solve problems instantly.

The children of Israel went into idolatry because Moses delayed.
When people cannot longer endure they make costly mistakes, a case study was Saul. Samuel asked Saul to tarry for seven days then the kingdom will be confirmed and established. Saul waited but after a while he was tired of waiting and he began to do what he ought not to do.

1Sam 13:8-10 KJV 8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. 9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering. 10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.

You see as soon as he finished offering the sacrifice that was the exactly the time Samuel showed up. If he had waited for just few more minutes or possibly an hour, Samuel would have come and he would not have gotten himself into trouble
The grace to wait may you receive it in Jesus name.

What are we expected to do when it seems the promise or good things are delayed?

  1. Be patient: Heb 6:12 KJV That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
patience is an active faith over a prolong period of time. you are still believing God, still acting on your faith and you are not giving up on him
  2. Be prayerful: Luk 18:1 KJV And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Jesus in that account told of a woman seeking justice but the judge wouldn’t answer her for a long time, but the woman would not give up, she kept coming everyday and at last she got justice. We are to continue prayering no matter he delay and never give up in communicating with God. Jesus said in that parable something wonderful:
Luk 18:7-8 KJV 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
That God is not like the unjust judge, yet He will avenge His own people speedily.
May your expectation come speedily this week in Jesus name..
  3. Forget side distraction: In the story of blind Bartimeaus, he was shouting Jesus of Nazareth have mercy on me but for a long time Jesus didn’t attend to him, people around were telling Bartimeaus to shut up and stop shouting but this is what Bible says about Bartimeaus
Mat 20:31 KJV And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
A big lesson for us all, don’t give up, you will get it.
  4. Pray against evil forces that may be causing delay
Daniel’s prayer was delayed for 21days because of the prince of Persia but Daniel would not give up and another angel was sent to rescue the angel bringing answer to Daniel. Today there are princes in our compound, family houses, places of work that want to delay us from receiving God’s blessing, we should wrestle against them in prayer and they will flee from us
In conclusion, i will like to read the counsel of a prophet in the Bible.

Hab 2:2-3 KJV 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Bible says even though it tarry, it says wait for it because it will surely come.
Don’t say because of delay then you will go and marry unbelievers, don’t say because of delay then you will go to a fake prophet’s house. Satan does not give things freely, if he give with one hand he takes ten times with another hand, don’t say because of delay you will change your date of birth or steal or cheat the system, wait.
Your own time will come, He makes all things beautiful in his time, wait.
David says

Psa 40:1-3 KJV 1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

If you wait on God, He will not disappoint you, he will set your feet on stony ground, He will put a new song in your mouth, you will sing your song, dance your dance in Jesus name. Wait on him.

Psa 27:14 KJV Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psa 37:34 KJV Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

Prayers:

Every yoke of satanic delay in my destiny as i begin to pray be consume by fire.

Every power assigned to cause delay in my life and destiny, be paralysed now in Jesus name.

My father my father let every delay be turn to my miracle in Jesus name.

Whatever has been delayed in my life, i command you to come this week in Jesus name.
