Breaking the restriction of the devil
Liberty is defined by the dictionary as:
The condition of being free from control or restrictions
The condition of being free from imprisonment, slavery or forced labour.
The condition of being free to act, believe or express oneself as one chooses.
To restrict then means To restrain within boundaries; to limit; to confine.
There are positive and negative restrictions
Positive
Restrictions set by God
Jer 5:22 KJV Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
Pro 8:29 KJV When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Job 38:10-11 KJV 10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, 11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Psa 104:9 KJV Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
The purpose why God set that boundary for the sea was not overflow the earth
God set limit by imposing laws, ordinances
Rom 5:13-14 KJV 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
There was a period when God dealt with men by grace.There was a period when Be brought laws and now God has gone back to the period of grace or church dispensation.
Because sin was not imputed to mankind they took advantage of it and were doing whatever they like. Satan also took advantage of the sin men were committing and started destroying mankind.
In order to stop the activity of the devil and restrain man from falling prey to the devil, God set up laws and put penalty with it. Thou shall not do this, if you transgress, this is your punishment.
So the law’s original purpose was to restrain mankind pending when something better will come. The fear of punishment restraints men. It was not because they love God and fellow mankind.
That was why Jesus said a new commandment I give unto you that you love one another as I have loved you.
Gal 3:24-25 KJV 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Christ has now come, the Bible says grace and faith came by the Lord Jesus the consequence of this we have been delivered from the law. Come to Bible study and you will learn more. Some will say what we not curb bad behaviours if law is no longer applicable. We will discover that the law is not for the righteous and now we have new commandments of love. He that fulfills that one has fulfilled the laws. Above all Rom 7: 6 we have the Holy Spirit in us that guides instead of regulatory guidance of the laws.
Rom 7:6 KJV But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
SELF RESTRAINTS AND RESTRICTIONS
There are positive and negative ones
Positive:
Dan 1:8 KJV But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Even though they were in foreign land, he remembered that the jews have dietary laws that restrain them from eating just everything because they were separated people, and the king’s food must have been dedicated to the idols through the liberation act of pouring drinks on the floor for deity to taste it. so, even though they were offered the best, he chose to be different and God bless their commitment. They were ten times better than mates and colleagues.
We too can set boundaries around ourselves. There should be limits to what we can and cannot take. There are things like I can’t put that kind of cloth on myself. When you go to a boutique or your tailor shows you her catalog.
You too can make such restraints upon yourself regarding relationships, that i will keep myself chaste and pure till marriage and don’t distribute and share yourself and have many body counts.
You can restrain yourself positively by saying I will not miss bible study and prayer meetings for anything in this life. Or will spend more time with God in fellowship. Or i will not go to such place and place
Negative
Some have used their own mouths to bring limitations upon their own lives. Or they allow other people to bring limitations and restraints to them.
Pro 6:2 KJV Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Some say I cannot marry somebody from outside my tribe, I must marry my own personal person. Some say i cannot travel by air, some say i cannot do that kind of job or business, i am too big for that after all i am a graduate and so they limit themselves.
Some also limit on what God can do in their lives through unbelief and thinking small
Psa 78:41 KJV Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
Talking about the children of Israel, they said can God furnish a table in the wilderness. Even Moses doubted God
Num 11:21-23 KJV 21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. 22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? 23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
Think big because your God is big. Talk big, talk like a millionaire, a blessed person. Say I can do all things through Christ that strengthened me.
Some allow other people to set limits and restraints
1Sa 17:33 KJV And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
There are voices saying you are not able, you won’t be able. Silence is consent. If you do not renounce, reject and counter the words with positive words, they will become a self fulfilled prophecy. The Bible says who has said and it has come to pass when the Lord has not commanded it.
Restrictions of the devil
The devil replicates what God does by also placing restraints, restrictions, embargoes and limitations upon people’s life, destinies, marriages, homes, family life, jobs, ministries, career like God placed on the sea. He too says hitherto has thou come but no further.

He does this through sickness, poverty and lack.
The aim is to incapacitate people, render their lives unfulfilling, unproductive, useless and failure. To make sure they don’t fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
Case study
Luk 13:10-16 KJV 10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. 14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. 15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
The reason why the woman ought to be made free was because she was a daughter of Abraham by faith.
She was a product of covenant. The covenant was based on faith not on performance.
Anyone who has faith is entitled to what Abraham is entitled to.
Gal 3:26 KJV For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 KJV And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Rom 2:28-29 KJV 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Summary
Anyone in faith is a seed of Abraham and therefore entitled to the blessings of the Abrahaimic covenant.
The curse of the law that brought sickness and infirmity has been broken upon anyone in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:13-14 KJV 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
On the basis of this, the woman ought not to be subjected to that situation.
Maybe she was not aware of what she had, who she was and the benefits of the covenant. Even if she was aware, she couldn’t have been able to exercise authority over the devil. But no matter what she ought not to be in that condition for that long period of time.
What applied to the woman also applied to us. We ought not to be in bondage, your job, business, career, blessing ought not to be in captivity.
What must we do?
Enforce your deliverance by proclaiming it. Deliverance from the power of darkness is also deliverance from evils, sickness, poverty, lack, depression, etc.
Proclaim liberty to them. Release them and command them the devil to let go.
