It is time to make a move

Famine according to dictionary means a period of extreme shortage of food in a region. It also means severe shortage or lack of something. Most countries of the world are experiencing severe shortage of many things, there is severe shortage of food, jobs, social amenities, good roads, pipe borne water. There are many people that have no means of sustenance, some lack many things but praise God the situation is changing from today in Jess name.

2Ki 6:25-33 KJV 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. 26 And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. 27 And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? 28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. 29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. 30 And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. 31 Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day. 32 But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him? 33 And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer?

The famine in Samaria was due to the army of Syria that besiege the town Samaria. The word “besiege” means to confine, to shut in, to shut out, to shut up and enclose. In order words, the town Samaria was locked down. Many of us are familiar with the word “lockdown” now. In Samaria, there was no movement, nobody can go out or come into the city, the enemies were outside the people cannot go out to farm or harvest their farm products. Hunger was in the city. The city was locked down.

Outside the gate of Samaria were four lepers. They were jews but they were living outside the city because of their disease leprosy. There is a law at that time anyone with such sickness must not come into the city, if he is moving around, he should shout unclean, unclean so people can move away from the road less they will be defiled and contaminated and become unclean.

Lev 13:45 KJV And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

In order words these lepers were rejected and were outcast. They did not have family, friends and people that can help them.
There are many of us undergoing such things, even though we are not lepers, but many people have abandon us, rejected us and do not care about us but I pray for you that every yoke of rejection shall be broken in Jesus name. Wherever you have been rejected before, you shall be accepted, wherever you have been humiliated before you shall be celebrated in JESUS name.

These lepers were suffering just like the people in the city, but one day they said to themselves look, there is famine in the city, there is war out there, if we stay here we are going to die, if we go inside the city, there is no food there, we will die, the best thing is for us to move from here, we can even go to the Syrian, if they kill us so be it if they keep us alive so be it.

This is the turning point in the lives of the four lepers. There are many Christian today that are suffering from indecision. They are not able to make up their mind on the job they want to do, the kind of business they can invest in, the right man to marry, they are always picking and dropping ideas. Many are in their ‘comfort zone’, they don’t want to risk anything, and anyone who is not venturing out will remain stagnated and stuck. Many are fearful, many cannot stepped out, many are limited because of these. They are always asking “what if… what if..?
I pray for such people this morning that that yoke of fear and indecision is broken in Jesus name.

Many at times, the things we are afraid of are not even there, and God has been waiting for us to take the step of faith out. For instance, when the four lepers moved to the camp of Syrian, they discovered that the whole host had ran away and left all their goods and stuffs, they carried and carried many things, they became rich over night, they ate and ate to their satisfaction. These were people on the brink of starvation but suddenly they became rich overnight.

2Ki 7:3-7 KJV 3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. 6 For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. 7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

I pray for you 24hours miracle shall be your lot in Jesus name, when you step out in faith, you shall meet favour, blessing and abundance in Jesus name.

In the New Testament, people that want a change in their situation made movement while others sat in terrible situation.

In Mt 14 there was a storm raging while the disciples were inside the boat. The boat was almost capsizing, suddenly, they saw a man walking on the water. It was Jesus. They were screaming and shouting and Jesus calmed them down that it was Him, Peter said “if it is you then bid me to come unto you”. Jesus asked him to come and he stepped out of the boat to walk unto Jesus. I was expecting the other eleven disciples to follow suite after seen that it was true and that Peter was waking on the water but you see they remain in the boat, the boat was been filled with water, they saw their colleague leaving and going yet they stay put there continued suffering even though solution was there.

Mat 14:24-29 KJV 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Do you know there are many Christian like that, they will refuse to take bold step and make a move, others are being employed they will say “I don’t like such job”, others are traveling out of the country or from their village they will say I am not going anywhere, I will stay here”. They saw opportunity but lack of decision will not make they to step out. Lack of faith and boldness. Many have missed opportunity of life time due to this kind of behavior. Do you know that none of them had opportunity to ever walk on the water throughout their entire live time? They missed it.

I pray for you, the opportunity that will change your destiny for life, may you not miss it in Jesus name, may you be at the right place and at the right time.
Whenever you see opportunity, pray about it and make a move.
I know that some people will say ‘I will like to make a move but here are many obstacles and hindrances that are preventing me’, some will say ‘I don’t have anybody’, some will say ‘I don’t have money for business’, some will say ‘I don’t have education’. We are the one most often a time that limits ourselves and limit what God can do in our lives. Where ever is a will and faith, nothing is impossible for a child of God.

In Mk 2, four men brought their sick friend to Jesus. Jesus was preaching in the house and the whole place was filled with people. There was no way for them to gain access to where Jesus was. What should they do?

Mar 2:4 KJV And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

If we were in their shoe what are we going to do? We will say ‘let us go home’, ‘we will come back next Sunday’, ‘we will see pastor next week’, ‘I cannot wait inside the sun’, ‘I am tired and hungry’.

But these four men did the unusual thing. The Bible says they climbed the roof of another man’s house, removed the ceiling and wood and lower their friend to where Jesus was standing. What an audacity of faith! What a surprise. Jesus marveled at them. They were desperate to get their friend healed at all cost and they will not allow crowd to hinder hem. The Bible says when Jesus saw their faith he healed their friend.

There are people that will not make any move at all and that will keep them in one position for a long period of time. For instance the man at the pool of Bethsaida was there for thirty eight years. What kep him there for so long? Hear his words:

Joh 5:5-7 KJV 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

We should not let any obstacle hinder us, with God all things are possible. Once we determine and make up our mind, God will make a way for us, the only thing hindering many of us is lack of courage and decision, and it’s not most of the time the devil. The devil may whisper to you not to go, create fear in your mind, give thoughts of unbelief but you as a child of God will say no, I will make it, I will prosper if I start the business, Declare the word of God, act on your faith and see God in action.

Prayers:

Every power introducing famine in to my life be destroy in Jesus name.

I command every yoke of famine be it famine of food, famine of business, famine of good things of life to be broken in Jesus name.

I silence every whisper of the devil, every spirit f fear, God has not given us the spirt of fear but of power and of love and of sound mind,

I rebuke the spirit of fear in my life in Jesus name. I receive the spirit of courage and boldness to step out in faith and achieve great things for the kingdom, my family in Jesus name.
